MS Advanced Orchestra - History
Unit Description:

p; Our expectation =
is that
all music students in our performing groups will have the experience of
learning about the history, performance practices, and terminology associat=
ed
with Western European music. =
In
addition, students will listen analytically to period examples and perform
music from their era of study. The seventh and eighth grade students will c=
over
the Baroque and Classical Eras. The
high school bands, orchestras and choirs will have a year’s study of
Renaissance/Baroque, Classical/Romantic, Early 20th century or Late 20th
Century. The three sub-units =
of
Music History are Musical Eras, Major Works and Composers, and Analytical
Listening.
