This is my fourth year teaching at Enatai and I am excited to continue teaching 2nd grade!   

 

I have a Master's degree in Teaching from Seattle University and a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California.  I also have a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a technical writer and newspaper reporter.

 

One of my goals as a teacher is to help students connect academic learning with real-world situations. To this end, I'm looking forward to working with students to complete a service learning project.  In past years, we have made blankets for children in an orphanage, installed bird feeders and plants for a bird sanctuary at Pit Park, and performed songs and distributed May baskets to residents at a local retirement home.

 

This year, I also will be piloting a new literacy curriculum called Journeys.
