The purpose of Foundations of World History is to develop a greater understanding of the evolution of global processes and contacts with different types of societies. The course emphasizes reading, analytical and writing skills necessary for success in World History or AP World History. This course covers the foundations unit of AP World History, focusing on an understanding of cultures, institutions, technology, and geography prior to 600 C.E. Students completing this course may enroll in either World History or AP World History.
