| Students will
learn basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing
Japanese. Listening and speaking basics are emphasized. Class will be
conducted at least 80% of the time in Japanese. Students will be
introduced to the three sets of Japanese characters (letters)—hiragana,
katakana and kanji. The students will be taught general geography of
Japan and explore Japanese culture through videos, movies, music, art,
field trips, guest presenters, games, and other activities. Also, there
will be opportunities for cultural exchange with visiting students from
Japan. |
