May Theme : Animals

Oral Language Focus:

We will focus on naming animals and identifying their origins and habitats. We will also work on describing specific characteristics and behaviors of different animals.

Reading Focus: 

We will read non-fiction texts about different kinds of animals and use graphic organizers such as K-W-L chart and Venn diagram to organize, compare, and contrast animals living in different habitats.

Writing Focus:

We will begin our animal research project. Each student will collect information in the library and on the internet and create a poster of an animal.
