Students will learn about the philosophy of government, the functions of the U.S. political system, foreign and domestic policy making, and the role of government in contemporary issues. The course is designed to prepare students to both understand and participate in the United States system of government.  Students will also examine the world since 1975. The areas of focus will include studying six major regions of the world. The international economy, world hot spots, and comparative views of world events will be studied in a contemporary context.
