Chemistry is a lab-intensive course focusing on understanding chemical principles and their applications. Topics include atomic theory, concepts in bonding, nanotechnology, states of matter and behavior of gases, mathematical calculations in chemistry, chemical reactions, equilibrium, acids and bases, thermochemistry and electrons in reactions.
Students integrate information literacy skills for a variety of purposes to inform this content area. Lessons are developed in collaboration with Library Media Specialists, curriculum developers and classroom teachers. They are of two types - those taught by Library Media Specialists and those taught in collaboration with the classroom teacher.
