Students will be learning JAVA, an excellent web-based programming language that is the current standard for AP Computer Science. Topics include: program development cycle, program syntax, writing code techniques, classes, data types, methods, conditionals, and repetition statements. Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of how computers execute programs. Students will be given plenty of classroom time to work on projects. Since the software is free, students will also be able to work at home. After the AP Test, students will pick a topic of their choosing such as game programming, swing classes, and data management. This class feeds into either AP Computer Science AB or other Information Technology classes.
