Visual Art offers a variety of classes to meet the 1.0 credit requirement in Fine Arts. All courses listed will count toward this requirement. Students may directly enter electives and experience a variety of art forms and media or pursue a specific art area of interest. All advanced visual art classes include the development of a “concentration” of work applicable for the A.P. Studio Art Portfolios: Drawing, 2D Design, & 3D Design. Students with an interest in visual art are encouraged to sign up for the Advanced Art Portfolio class during their Junior or Senior year where the coursework prepares motivated students for submitting portfolios to the AP Program, college admission, and scholarships. Students who wish to submit Portfolios in the spring of 2006 should seek advice from the visual art instructors and counselors to ensure enrollment in the proper sections of the advanced visual art classes. (see description 177 Advanced Art Portfolio). All visual art classes include art history, elements and principles of design, critique, and portfolio development. Fees are charged for materials in some art classes.
