Middle School Physical Education – 8th Grade


Rhythmic Activities:

The purpose of this unit is for students to learn and perform a variety of dances.  Folk dance, square dance and line dancing may be included.

Students will continue to improve on moving to a rhythmic beat of music.

 

 


Objectives:

1.       Learn and demonstrate a variety of steps used in line dancing.

2.       Perform a variety of dances.

3.       Move to a sequence of movement patterns keeping time with the        music.

 

 


Pacing Guide:

It is recommended that the Rhythmic Activities unit be taught in a minimum of five class sessions.

 


Unit Assessment:

1.       Students will perform one dance for assessment.
