"Without music, life is a journey through a desert."
-Pat Conroy
Music provides an opportunity to communicate, create and perform in the Arts. All music classes include study of the elements of music, music history and performance. The Band, Orchestra and Choir classes offer opportunities for kids to perform in large groups, small ensembles and even solos. Our multi-leveled Band, Orchestra and Choirs are year long performance classes which enable students to meet the Bellevue School District’s one-credit Fine Arts requirement. Participation in our Middle School Music program prepares students for success in high school music courses and provides students with a deeper appreciation of what is involved in crafting one’s art.
The Bellevue School District Music Department embraces the CPR processes developed by Scott Schuler from the Connecticut Department of Education and NAEP (the arts). There are three processes; creating, performing and responding. These processes which are also EALR #2, are fully implemented in our band, orchestra and choir programs.
