Writing is included in all courses, including those with a literature
focus. Oral communication skills are practiced and supported in
all courses.
Bellevue School District requires a high school graduate to successfully
complete 4.0 credits of English. These requirements are to be
completed as follows:
A. 1.0 credit of Freshman Composition and Literature or Honors
B. 1.0 credit of Sophomore Composition and Literature or Honors
C. 1.0 credit of American Literature and Composition, AP Language
and American Literature, IB/AP Junior Language and Literature
or AP American Literature and Composition
D. 1.0 credit of Senior English, AP Senior English, AP Literature
and Composition, or IB/AP Senior Language and Literature
