| In the AP class, students read, analyze, discuss, and write about Francophone literature from the fourteenth through twentieth centuries. Eleven authors and thirty-one works are studied. Students discuss, interpret, and compare these works in their social, historical, and thematic contexts. All genres of literature are read. Students are trained to analyze critically the form and content of various literary works. This class is conducted in French. At the end of the year, students will take the AP exam in French Literature. | |

Course Description:
The AP French Literature
course is designed to introduce students who have advanced language skills to
the formal study of a representative body of literary texts in French. This program is an introduction to works of
prose, poetry and drama from different periods.
Objectives: Students
will learn…
- To gain proficiency in the fundamental
language skills that enable students to read and understand prose and
verse of moderate difficulty level
- To formulate and express critical opinions and
judgments in correct oral and written French
- To develop the ability to read and analyze
critically and to discuss works of French literature
- To acquire the basic concepts and terminology
of textual analysis
