785 H ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY
Length/Credit 2 semesters - two periods daily - 2.0 CTE credits

Students extend their knowledge of motor vehicle systems, building on knowledge building on previously learned skills and knowledge. A high level of professional interest and maturity is required as students are expected to work on a professional level while preparing for their ASE certification. Topics studied include Advanced Engine Rebuilding, Advanced Electrical Diagnosis, Air Conditioning Systems, the latest in On-Board Computer Diagnostics and Suspension, Steering and Alignment procedures. As knowledge and ability grows during the course of the year, students will have opportunities for job shadowing and apprenticeships at local automotive shops. The class operates like a commercial automotive repair facility.
