This course is focused on consumer awareness and an introduction to automobiles in general. Students will learn what they need to know to own and maintain a modern vehicle safely. Topics covered include: buying and owning a vehicle, locating and working with a good repair facility, emissions testing, how to check and maintain fluid levels and know which ones are leaking, changing flat tires, applying tire chains, jump starting a vehicle, identifying dangerous sounds, and the importance of maintaining both the interior and exterior of a vehicle.
