Students will be introduced to one of the fastest-growing professions in the United States, which includes a formal system of financial-record management for proprietorships and partnerships. Students will also study accounting vocabulary, the relationship between accounting and business, and the accounting cycle for service and merchandise business. QuickBooks accounting software will be used to enter transactions and create financial reports. A business simulation is used at the end of the semester to aid students in synthesizing and applying their learning.
