In this course, high school freshmen develop analytical reading, academic writing, critical thinking, and presentation skills. Course content includes myth, autobiography, short story, poetry, drama, and novel.

Students integrate information literacy skills for a variety of purposes to inform this content area. Lessons are developed in collaboration with Library Media Specialists, curriculum developers and classroom teachers. They are of two types - those taught by Library Media Specialists and those taught in collaboration with the classroom teacher.
