990 ACADEMY THEATER ARTS

Location: Odle
Students will form a performing ensemble that explores different
aspects of theater production for the serious performer. Projects may
include group or individual participation, rehearsals, and memorization.
Activities focus on advanced skills of pantomime, story theater,
puppetry, improvisation, scene study, discussions, or play performances.
Units cover scoring a role, advanced observation, characterizations,
advanced movement techniques, producing a play, playing
period pieces, humorous and serious scene study, auditioning
techniques, dialect training, special movement training, specialized
make-up training, theater history, and dramatic criticism. Students
will learn from area theater professionals and attend field trip
performances to the Seattle Repertory Theatre, the Intiman Theatre,
and/or Seattle Children’s Theatre. An Academy of Visual and Performing
Arts class. |
